Welcome to 3 of Cups Durham, a cozy coffee shop nestled in the heart of Durham at 58-62 North Rd, Durham DH1 4SQ, United Kingdom. This inviting space is not just a destination for coffee lovers, but a vibrant gathering spot for the community. Whether you're seeking a tranquil morning filled with delightful brews or a leisurely afternoon catch-up with friends, 3 of Cups has something special to offer for everyone.
As I stepped inside, the warm ambiance enveloped me—a perfect backdrop for enjoying their well-curated menu. Breakfast is served until 2 PM, and I was immediately tempted by the Breakfast Special (£9.50), featuring two crispy bacon rashers, a savory sausage, free-range egg, cheesy smashed potatoes, toast, and your choice of beans or tomatoes. Each bite is a testament to comfort food done right.
For those with a sweet tooth, the French Toast offerings are not to be missed. Indulge in brioche bread cooked with a signature sweet custard and topped with your choice of Nutella, Biscoff, or even savory maple syrup adorned with crispy bacon—all priced at a delightful £7. These dishes beautifully blend flavors, creating a symphony of tastes that are both imaginative and satisfying.
The coffee selection is equally impressive. From a rich, robust Americano (£3.00) to a frothy Flat White (£3.80), each cup promises to elevate your spirits. The knowledgeable staff are always eager to share seasonal specials, ensuring your experience remains fresh and exciting.
But what truly makes 3 of Cups shine are the stories of its customers—like Paul, who raves about the “delicious and imaginative seasonal specials,” or Karen, who appreciates the welcoming atmosphere and the array of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. The community vibe is palpable; it’s not uncommon to see guests gathering for tarot readings while enjoying homemade treats or perusing unique pop-up stalls that showcase local artisans.
The decor complements the warm spirit of the establishment, with comfy sofas and eclectic furniture creating an inviting space perfect for relaxing. Julie's experience echoes the sentiment that 3 of Cups isn’t just about food and drink—it's about creating memorable moments with friends and loved ones.
In summary, 3 of Cups Durham offers more than just a meal; it’s an experience filled with warmth, flavor, and community connection. Whether you’re savoring a delightful breakfast or unwinding with friends over coffee, each visit promises to be just as enriching as the last. Don’t hesitate to stop by—your next favorite coffee shop awaits!

Really lovely and chilled spot in Durham. Good range of drinks, especially the delicious and imaginative seasonal specials. Very tempting menu, with special mention for the french toast and the acai bowls. Oh, I've just talked myself into another visit!

What a lovely, chilled place! Staff are so welcoming and friendly. Great choice on the menu. Good value, too. Love the decor, with the sofas, cushions, high back chairs, breakfast bars Etc. Frequent quirky pop up stalls visiting (just 1 at a time and they are very unobtrusive) as well as a little inside merch section.(bought myself a lovely sun catcher) On site, home made food. Can literally see them making scones etc. Loved it so much been twice in one week. Once with a friend and once with the husband, and both also enjoyed their visit. Feel they would be as accommodating as possibly to dietary needs or to tweak, where possibly if you asked. Definitely be back.

I've been to 3 of cups for a few of the events they kindly host and their service has been amazing. I'm really happy there is a coffee shop in Durham commited to being a gathering space for the local community. I'm looking forward to making the difficult decision of getting their delicious BBQ pork folded flatbread or trying one of the amazing looking new menu items next time I visit!

Been multiple times plus to a few of the social events held there: Absolutely incredible and lovely staff, so friendly and welcoming and feels like such a safe space! The food and drinks are incredible and they're actually homemade and clearly with love. Iced drinks are so tasty and refreshing and the hot ones are cozy. Homemade deserts with such variety (same goes for the lunches!)

I ordered the veggie breakfast wrap, it was delicious I’d highly recommend and we also got some cakes to takeaway which were tremendous. The service was warm and welcoming and I loved the overall vibe of the place. I also couldn’t resist buying a cute little notepad out of the little gift section.
